Douce France, Cher pays de mon enfance….

Hey guys,

Hope you are well. I’ve been quite busy these last couple of weeks searching for a new job, preparing my career move and finding a new place to live.

However, I had time to meet my family back in France and what a surprise when I arrived in Paris.

Poverty and insecurity is ruining my country. Council, medical & social care (CAF & Securite sociale) services are worsening. People dressed with clothes found in Parisian bins. Minorities feed themselves with food from “boulangerie” or supermarket.

By the way, a man has been fired because he “stole” foods out of date from a bin of the supermarket he works for.

Human conditions and treatments are questionable. I was with my sister around 10pm driving home after eating in a restaurant and I saw people (men, women and children) with tents and duvets!

When I asked my sister what were they doing there? She said naturally that the “prefecture” offer only 50 meetings for foreigners who want to extend their working visa or want to renew their papers. As a consequence people sleep in front of the prefecture to be sure to be served the day after.

But what all this mean? Why should we treat people this way? Where are the means to improve all that? How did all this happen?

I heard somewhere that hell will be on earth when Les sages would approved the worse. I feel that France is plunging in hell and is the place of all the worse things in Europe and I found it scandalous and I am very surprised that nobody dares saying anything about all these injustices. Are we becoming sheep? Are we so fed up with our government that we couldn’t care more?

All I have to say is that I do not recognise my country anymore! And I am very disappointed with its evolution. I can’t wait for the next election.

Ledisi – Pieces Of Me

This is my musical “coup de coeur” of the week.

I introduce you Ledisi a very talented american singer.

Ledisi Anibade Young is an American recording artist, singer-songwriter, record producer, CEO and actress. Her first name means “to bring forth” or “to come here” in Yoruba.Ledisi is known for her jazz influenced vocals. In 1995, Ledisi formed the group known as Anibade. After unsuccessfully trying to get the group signed to a major label, she formed LeSun Records with Sundra Manning. Along with her group Anibade, Ledisi released an album entitled Take Time. The album gained major airplay from local American radio stations.

In 2000, Ledisi released her first album, entitled Soulsinger: The Revival. Ledisi and her group toured in 2001, performing various shows. In 2002, Ledisi released her second album, Feeling Orange but Sometimes Blue. The album won her an award for “Outstanding Jazz Album” at the California Music Awards.

In 2007, Ledisi signed a major record deal with Verve Forecast and released her third album in August of that year, entitled Lost & Found, which sold almost 217,000 copies and earned her two Grammy nominations, including one for Best New Artist. In 2008, Ledisi released her Christmas album, It’s Christmas.

In 2009, Ledisi released her fourth album Turn Me Loose, which earned her 2 Grammy nominations.

Ledisi is currently touring with R&B/soul singer Kem on his North American INTIMACY Tour. On March 10, 2011, during her opening act in Atlanta, Georgia, Ledisi announced that she had finished recording her fifth studio album on March 9, 2011. Fans can expect to see it on shelves in the summer of 2011.

Onna Ehrlich

I have never heard of that brand before so when I received an email coming from Cocosa

Featuring this designer, I was like Oh la la! I should have a look.

I went on Cocosa special Onna Ehrlich promotional and temporary online sales and I must admit I was disappointed.

Then I went on her website and only 2 bags really strike my attention. The first one Nancy cross body bag (above righ, the above left is a Chanel 😉 ).

Nice but nothing smoking! I believe that there’s a too strong inspiration from the some French brands classic cross body bag like Chanel, Longchamp, Le Tanneur or Lancel.

And then, I discovered the Vanessa Croco (below) and I really like it. That’s my coup de Coeur, expensive though!
